Often I have heard singers tell students not to cover. đ«€ Usually what they are referring to is a deliberate use of vowel modification that suppresses the resonance that leaves the voice hollow. Of course we shouldnât do this! đ«Ą
But letâs change our perception of vocal cover to get more freedom in our high notes. Covering the voice should be used by tilting the voice but NOT sacrificing the brightness and integrity of the vowel. Covering done right can make the voice more theatrical and/or operatic and adds beauty to the tone. đđđ
